Immediately After Treatment
- Avoid eating until the numbness wears off to prevent biting your cheek or tongue
- Mild discomfort is normal and should ease within a few days
- Take over-the-counter pain relief (ibuprofen or paracetamol) as needed
Ongoing Care
- Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until your permanent crown is placed
- Brush and floss normally
- Attend your follow-up appointment for the permanent restoration
- The treated tooth may feel slightly different from your other teeth — this is normal
Important
A root-canal-treated tooth still needs a permanent crown to protect it from fracture. Please schedule your crown appointment within 2-4 weeks of the root canal.
